The Paznaun-Ischgl region offers 100km of cross-country skiing tracks and winter hiking trails for skating, classic Nordic skiing or walks.
The high altitude on its own makes cross-country skiing in Galtür in the Tyrol delightful. The trails are newly tracked every day and stretch from an altitude of 1,377m to more than 2,000m. A cross-country skiing excursion to Bielerhöhe is a special experience. After this sporty nature experience you can reward yourself with an apple strudel or Kaiserschmarren (shredded pancakes with sugar and rains) at Alpengasthof Piz Buin. The view of the Silvretta reservoir and area that can be enjoyed from the terrace is a real treat. The journey home starts with a little test of courage, since you’ve got to ski downhill all the altitude you have gained before. With a little exercise or even by foot the downhill is easily conquered.

A hike through the winter paradise off busy roads but through forests and past little brooks is a unique nature experience. All trails are wide enough for a toboggan to take with you.
Our tip: Take your children on a walk from Apart Zimalis to Mathon. Hike through the forest past the game feeding station and the forest chapel to get to the game park. The game park offers insights into the life of deer and other alpine animals. The Wildererhütte is a good break stop. A perfect winter day for the young and old.
